The Hamilton Joes survive the Dayton Docs rally, escape with 2-1 victory

The Dayton Docs (16-20) were unable to fight back from the big hole they dug themselves into against the Hamilton Joes (12-22), and the Dayton Docs lost 2-1 to the Hamilton Joes after falling behind by two runs in the first inning.

The Dayton Docs scored one run in the fourth on a groundout by Brady Stewart. Unfortunately, the Dayton Docs weren't able to take the lead back.

Caleb Bryson racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Hamilton Joes. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Matt Marksberry had an impressive outing against the Dayton Docs' lineup. The Dayton Docs managed just three hits off of the the Hamilton Joes' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out five during his five innings of work.

Zach Johnson couldn't get it done on the hill for the Dayton Docs, taking a loss. He lasted just eight innings, walked none, struck out seven, and allowed two runs.
