The Lake Erie Monarchs (17-18) and the So. Ohio Copperheads (18-14) both had scoring chances on Tuesday, but it was the Lake Erie Monarchs that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 6-2 win at Ned Skeldon Stadium.

Matt Rodgers racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Lake Erie Monarchs. He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

A bright spot for the So. Ohio Copperheads in the defeat was Evan Brisentine, who allowed only three runs while striking out five.

Ethan Vasiliauskas recorded his first win of the year for the Lake Erie Monarchs. He allowed one run over six innings. Vasiliauskas struck out three, walked three and gave up seven hits.

Brisentine ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year.
