Ethan McAlpine went 2-4 as the Hamilton Joes (11-19) took home a 6-2 victory over the Lake Erie Monarchs (15-14) at Ned Skeldon Stadium on Tuesday.

Dylan Toscano got the win for the Hamilton Joes thanks to nine strikeouts. Toscano allowed one earned run on five hits and no walks over seven innings.

The Lake Erie Monarchs were led by Austin Williams's hitting. Williams went 3-4 and scored two runs. He tripled in the first innings and singled in the sixth and eighth innings.

Clayton Ruch ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
