Xenia Scouts vs Dayton Docs: 4-5

The Dayton Docs survive the Xenia Scouts rally, escape with 5-4 victory

The Xenia Scouts (11-15) were unable to fight back from the big hole they dug themselves into against the Dayton Docs (10-18), and the Xenia Scouts lost 5-4 to the Dayton Docs after falling behind by five runs in the fifth inning.

The Xenia Scouts scored four runs in the seventh on a groundout by David Gabel and three singles. Despite their efforts, the Xenia Scouts couldn't finish the comeback.

The Dayton Docs were led by Zach Mosbarger's hitting. Mosbarger went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the fourth and eighth innings.

Travis Hissong brought the heat against the Xenia Scouts during his outing. Hissong held the Xenia Scouts hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four.

Buck Harris reached base three times. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the first and seventh innings.

Trent Szkutnik got the win, running his season record to 4-2. He allowed four runs over six innings. He struck out seven, walked two and surrendered four hits.

Blake McKnight was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
