Schmenk allows no runs to lead the Lake Erie Monarchs past the Stark County Terriers 14-7

Alec Schmenk held the Stark County Terriers (11-13) scoreless for six innings to boost the Lake Erie Monarchs (12-9) to a 14-7 victory.

Schmenk allowed four hits, three walks and struck out five.

Twelve runs in the first three innings helped the Lake Erie Monarchs blow out the Stark County Terriers. An RBI single by Trent Miller, an RBI double by Michael Adkins, a groundout by Tyler Curry, an RBI single by Dane Wisneski, a two-run home run by Matt Rodgers, and an RBI single by Andrew Sohn in the first inning and an RBI single by Adkins and an RBI single by Wisneski during the second inning helped the Lake Erie Monarchs put some runs on the board early.

Rodgers racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Lake Erie Monarchs.

John Birkbeck (0-1) took the loss for the Stark County Terriers. He allowed nine runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out three.

The Lake Erie Monarchs easily handled the Stark County Terriers pitching as six hitters combined for 12 hits, 11 RBIs and 10 runs scored.
