Matt Borgschulte was cold coming off the bench, but Borgschulte warmed up quickly as Borgschulte stroked a key pinch-hit single in the one to lead the So. Ohio Copperheads (10-7) to a 5-3 win over the Hamilton Joes (8-13) on Thursday at Foundation Field.

The Hamilton Joes scored on an RBI double by Tucker Tubbs and an RBI triple by Cody Leichman in the fourth inning and a wild pitch in the seventh inning. Despite their efforts, the Hamilton Joes couldn't get over the hump.

Joe Wahl brought the heat against the Hamilton Joes during his outing. The Hamilton Joes managed just three hits off of the the So. Ohio Copperheads' pitcher, who allowed two earned runs, walked three and struck out five during his 5 2/3 innings of work.

Ryan Riga (0-2) took the loss for the Hamilton Joes. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
