Josh Ungerbuehler was cold coming off the bench, but Ungerbuehler warmed up quickly as Ungerbuehler stroked a key pinch-hit single in the three to lead the Cincinnati Steam (13-6) to a 10-6 win over the Lexington Hustlers (10-13) on Thursday at Western Hills HS.
With the game scoreless in the third inning Ungerbuehler came to the plate and singled, plating Robby Sunderman.
Ungerbuehler did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Cincinnati Steam, reaching base four times. He scored three runs and had one RBI.
The Cincinnati Steam relied on Matt Jefferson to eat up innings en route to the win. Jefferson pitched six innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and two walks while striking out three.
Jackson Deyer couldn't get it done on the mound for the Lexington Hustlers, taking a loss. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
