The Grand Lake Mariners (6-14) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 3-2 to the Lake Erie Monarchs (10-7) on Tuesday.

While the Grand Lake Mariners led until the seventh inning, the Lake Erie Monarchs worked their way back and took the lead.

James Bourque handled the Grand Lake Mariners' lineup with ease, racking up seven strikeouts. Bourque allowed two earned runs, four hits and two walks over six innings.

Despite the loss, the Grand Lake Mariners' Tim Faix dominated the Lake Erie Monarchs' batters, giving up two runs and striking out six.

Jacob Brewer got the win, running his season record to 2-1. Brewer struck out three, walked one and gave up one hit.

Daniel Przeniczny was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
