The So. Ohio Copperheads come from behind to beat the Dayton Docs, 9-4

The So. Ohio Copperheads (9-5) trailed by four in the sixth, but Chris Piwinski was able to capture the lead back with a single in the seventh, spurring the So. Ohio Copperheads to a 9-4 win over the Dayton Docs (7-15) at Wright State University on Tuesday.

With the So. Ohio Copperheads trailing by one in the seventh inning, Piwinski came to the plate and singled, plating Mike Fish and Matt Lopez.

Piwinski got a hit in each of his two at bats. He singled in the third and seventh innings.

Despite the loss, the Dayton Docs' Michael Clark dominated the So. Ohio Copperheads' batters, giving up three runs and striking out five.

Justin Brantley improved to 2-1 on the year by picking up the win for the So. Ohio Copperheads. He allowed four runs over seven innings. Brantley struck out seven, walked three and gave up seven hits.

Stephen Holland ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just zero innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.

The So. Ohio Copperheads were sparked by Piwinski and Matt Borgschulte, who teamed up for five hits and five RBIs.
