The Xenia Scouts seize victory thanks to late single, drop the Dayton Docs 7-6

It took 10 innings, but the Xenia Scouts (8-11) managed to put away the Dayton Docs (7-14) 7-6 on Monday at Wright State University.

With the score tied at six in the tenth inning, Pat Vickery came to the plate and singled, bringing home Taylor Kaprive.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the tenth, with seven lead changes.

Chandler Brock paced the Xenia Scouts at the plate. Brock went 3-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the second inning and singled in the fifth and sixth innings.

The Dayton Docs had no answer for Nathan Roth, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Roth gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his three innings of work.

Travis Hissong ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
