The Lake Erie Monarchs pulled out the win thanks to a strong sixth inning. A groundout by Austin Williams scored Devan Ahart and gave the Lake Erie Monarchs the lead for good.
Ahart racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Lake Erie Monarchs. He singled in the fourth and sixth innings.
The Dayton Docs had no answer for Cristian Torres, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Torres held the Dayton Docs hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.
John Kravetz improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Lake Erie Monarchs. He allowed three runs over six innings. Kravetz struck out three, walked two and gave up six hits.
Michael Clark ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
