An outstanding effort by Trent Szkutnik hoisted the Dayton Docs (6-9) to a 10-0 win over the Grand Lake Mariners (5-11) on Tuesday at Westview Park.
Seven runs in the opening three innings allowed the Dayton Docs to easily put away the Grand Lake Mariners. A sacrifice fly by Brady Stewart in the first inning and , a sacrifice fly by Brian Bien, , a triple by Will Drake, and a groundout by Garrett Gray during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Dayton Docs.
Troy Summers did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Dayton Docs, reaching base three times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He homered in the third inning and singled in the seventh inning.
Szkutnik improved to 3-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Dayton Docs. He struck out 14, walked two and surrendered no hits.
Tim Faix (0-1) took the loss for the Grand Lake Mariners. He allowed six runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked six and struck out none.
