Colton Simbeck was cold coming off the bench, but Simbeck warmed up quickly as Simbeck stroked a key pinch-hit single in the eight to lead the Hamilton Joes (6-9) to a 3-2 win over the Lake Erie Monarchs (8-5) on Sunday at Foundation Field.
With the Hamilton Joes trailing by one, Simbeck came to the plate and singled.

Caleb Bryson pushed the Hamilton Joes ahead, in the eleventh inning, and the lead lasted until the final out. Devon Reed hit into a fielder's choice to start the eleventh. He then went from first to third on a single by Tucker Tubbs. Finally, Bryson came to the plate with the score tied at two, and singled, scoring Reed.
Brandon Horth got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He struck out five, walked one and surrendered one hit.
Cristian Torres (1-1) took the loss for the Lake Erie Monarchs. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed one run.
