Boxscore | Game Recap | Boxscore Text Version | Gamelive Version

Butara leads the Stark County Terriers to 8-0 victory thanks to 8 strikeouts

Story by Narrative Science.

An ace performance by Neil Butara spurred the Stark County Terriers (6-8) to an 8-0 win in seven innings over the Xenia Scouts on Saturday at Grady Field.

The Stark County Terriers' Butara kept the Xenia Scouts (5-8) off the scoreboard for all seven innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on three hits while ringing up eight.

Five runs in the opening three innings allowed the Stark County Terriers to easily put away the Xenia Scouts. A two-run home run by Jacob North during the first inning and a sacrifice fly by Max Murphy and a groundout by Garrett Emling in the second inning helped the Stark County Terriers put some runs on the board early.

North racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Stark County Terriers.

Jimmy McDonald couldn't get it done on the mound for the Xenia Scouts, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked none and struck out one.
