The Lexington Hustlers (6-6) beat the Xenia Scouts (4-6) 10-3 on Thursday thanks to a five-run ninth inning.
Caleb Eickhoff helped the Lexington Hustlers take the lead for good in the seventh inning. Dalton Henzman singled to start the seventh. He then went from first to second on a groundout by Stephen Hoagland. Finally, Eickhoff came to the plate with the score tied at two, and tripled, bringing home Henzman.
Johnny Thomas racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Lexington Hustlers. He singled in the seventh innings, homered in the eighth inning, and doubled in the ninth inning.
Jordan Cooper pitched lights out for the Lexington Hustlers. Cooper gave up just three hits, allowed one earned run, walked four and struck out five during his five innings of work.
Clay Cinnamon got the win, running his season record to 1-1. Cinnamon struck out one, walked four and gave up no hits.
Joshua Spears couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Xenia Scouts, taking a loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
