The So. Ohio Copperheads (3-2) took the last of eight lead changes in a back-and-forth affair against the Grand Lake Mariners (5-5), securing a 8-4 victory on Sunday at Bob Wren Stadium.
The So. Ohio Copperheads were led by a flawless day at the dish by Ben Netzel, who went 3-3 against the Grand Lake Mariners' pitching. He singled in the second, fourth, and sixth innings.
Erik Shannahan put together a nice outing. The Grand Lake Mariners managed just one hit off of Shannahan, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four during his two innings of work.
Michael Timm was hot from the plate for the Grand Lake Mariners. Timm went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He tripled in the third inning and singled in the fourth inning.
Dan Ditusa couldn't get it done on the hill for the Grand Lake Mariners, taking a loss. He lasted just zero innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
