The Licking County Settlers defeat the Stark County Terriers after late game triple, 8-7

The Licking County Settlers (5-1) took the last of five lead changes in a back-and-forth affair against the Stark County Terriers (2-5), securing a 8-7 victory on Thursday at Don Edwards Field.

Parker Gibson had two extra-base hits for the Licking County Settlers. He doubled in the third and eighth innings.

Jared Hill brought the heat against the Stark County Terriers during his outing. The Stark County Terriers managed just three hits off of Hill, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his 3 1/3 innings of work.

The Stark County Terriers' Kyle Pollock was perfect at the dish, going 4-4. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the first, second, and seventh innings.

Brett Barber recorded the win for the Licking County Settlers. He tossed 1 1/3 innings of shutout ball. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered no hits.

Sean Kennedy ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed one run.

Austin Bossart, Gibson and Jake Fields helped lead the Licking County Settlers. They combined for seven hits and four RBIs.
