Friday was a great day for Reid Kelly, as Kelly struck out 11 batters to carry the Traverse City Beach Bums (59-29) to a 3-1 victory over the Lake Erie Crushers (50-38) at All Pro Freight Stadium.

The Traverse City Beach Bums came out swinging, scoring three runs in the first inning to jump ahead of the Lake Erie Crushers early. A three-run double by Kyle Colligan delivered the runs in the first. The Traverse City Beach Bums had two hits in the inning.

Brian Heere went a perfect 3-3 at the plate for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He singled in the first, fifth, and seventh innings.

Eric Gonzalez-Diaz ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his eighth loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out six, and allowed three runs.
