Velazquez's double gives the Klamath Falls Gems walk-off win over the Kitsap BlueJackets, 4-3

A walk-off double from Greg Velazquez brought home the winning run for the Klamath Falls Gems (16-19) in a 4-3 victory over the Kitsap BlueJackets (10-31) at Kiger Stadium on Tuesday.

Velazquez was solid at the plate for the Klamath Falls Gems. Velazquez went 1-4 and drove in one. He doubled in the ninth inning.

Austin Byler had two extra-base hits for the Klamath Falls Gems. He tripled in the first inning, doubled in the third inning, and singled in the sixth inning.

The Kitsap BlueJackets had no answer for Brandon Williams, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Kitsap BlueJackets managed just one hit off of the the Klamath Falls Gems' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his three innings of work.

Michael Holback was effective even in defeat, mowing down seven the Klamath Falls Gems batters and allowing two runs.

Jeremy Burright got the win, running his season record to 1-3. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered no hits.

Sean Prihar couldn't get it done on the mound for the Kitsap BlueJackets, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.

The Klamath Falls Gems were sparked by Byler and Joshua Wong, who teamed up for six hits and two RBIs.
