The Kelowna Falcons cruise past the Walla Walla Sweets, 14-3

The Walla Walla Sweets (4-11) didn't put up much of a fight on Thursday, as the Kelowna Falcons (9-5) cruised to a blowout 14-3 win at Elks Stadium.

The Kelowna Falcons scored six runs in the eighth on an RBI home run by Preston Gray, an RBI double by Cameron Alvarado, a two-run double by Alvarado, an RBI single by Tucker Alexander, and an RBI single by Tyler Qualls.

Jerry McClanahan had two extra-base hits for the Kelowna Falcons. He doubled in the third inning.

Phil Maton shut down the Walla Walla Sweets while he was on the mound. Maton held the Walla Walla Sweets hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

J.J. Robinson racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Walla Walla Sweets. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Brandon Marris got the win, running his season record to 3-0. He allowed three runs over seven innings. Marris struck out four, walked three and gave up seven hits.

Tyler Roberts (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just five innings, walked four, struck out two, and allowed four runs.

Ryan Stajduhar, Alvarado, Andrew Firth and McClanahan helped lead the Kelowna Falcons. They combined for 11 hits and nine RBIs.
