The bats were busy at James Madison High School on Tuesday, and when the dust cleared the Vienna River Dogs (15-20) had a 10-9 win over the Gaithersburg Giants (17-19) in seven innings.
The teams totaled 17 hits in the game.
Cole Perry boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 3-3 day at the plate to pace the Vienna River Dogs. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the first and fourth innings.
Peyton Isaacson led the Gaithersburg Giants' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored two runs and had two RBIs. He homered in the sixth inning.
Sam Ryan improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Vienna River Dogs. He allowed four runs over 3 1/3 innings. He struck out three, walked two and surrendered four hits.
Nick DeCarlo ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just zero innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
