Vinny Esposito drove in four runs as the Bethesda Big Train (25-11) took home a 6-2 victory over the Alexandria Aces (21-15) in seven innings at Frank Mann Field on Tuesday.
He singled in the second inning and homered in the seventh inning.Logan Gilbert had an impressive outing against the Alexandria Aces' lineup. The Alexandria Aces managed just two hits off of the the Bethesda Big Train's pitcher, who allowed two earned runs, walked five and struck out six during his 5 2/3 innings of work.
Stephen Schoch got the win, running his season record to 2-1. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.
Patrick Finklestein ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
