Both the Gaithersburg Giants (16-18) and the SS-T T Bolts (18-14) put runners aboard on Sunday, but it was the Gaithersburg Giants that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 4-1 win at Criswell Automotive Field.
The Gaithersburg Giants were led by Patrick Causa's hitting. Causa went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fifth inning.
Eric Brodkowitz handled the SS-T T Bolts' lineup with ease, racking up four strikeouts. Brodkowitz allowed no earned runs on four hits and one walk over five innings.
Chih-Yuan Lai allowed three earned runs, six hits and two walks while striking out six over eight innings of work.
Matt Chanin improved to 5-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Gaithersburg Giants. Chanin struck out one, walked none and gave up four hits.
Lai couldn't get it done on the mound for the SS-T T Bolts, taking a loss.
