The Evansville Otters (29-21) beat the Gateway Grizzlies (25-28) 4-3 in seven innings on Saturday at Bosse Field behind Denzel Richardson, who drove in three runs.
He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth inning.The Gateway Grizzlies had no answer for Preston Olson, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Gateway Grizzlies managed just one hit off of Olson, who allowed no earned runs, walked four and struck out 10 during his six innings of work.
JaVaun West couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Gateway Grizzlies, taking a loss. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
