The Schaumburg Boomers (26-32) didn't stand a chance on Thursday, as the Normal CornBelters (26-31) captured a blowout 8-1 win at The Corn Crib.

A three-run home run by Nolan Meadows delivered the runs in the seventh. The Normal CornBelters had two hits in the inning.

Meadows racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Normal CornBelters.

Charlie Gillies picked up the win for the Normal CornBelters. Gillies pitched eight innings and allowed one earned run, three hits and three walks while striking out four.

Scott Schultz couldn't get it done on the hill for the Schaumburg Boomers, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
