Horacio Acosta kept the Schaumburg Boomers (22-23) off the board during his seven innings of work and the Normal CornBelters (20-25) beat the Schaumburg Boomers, 3-1.

Acosta allowed four hits, two walks and struck out three.

Nolan Meadows had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the seventh inning and homered in the ninth inning.

Seth Webster couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Schaumburg Boomers, taking a loss. He lasted just nine innings, walked none, struck out seven, and allowed three runs.

The Normal CornBelters were sparked by Dillon Haupt and Meadows, who teamed up for three hits and two RBIs.
