Max Homick kept the Schaumburg Boomers (22-23) off the board during his six innings of work and the Normal CornBelters (20-25) beat the Schaumburg Boomers, 1-0.

Homick struck out six and allowed five walks and five hits.

Nolan Meadows was solid at the plate for the Normal CornBelters. Meadows went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the ninth inning.

A bright spot for the Schaumburg Boomers in the defeat was Kagen Hopkins, who allowed only zero runs while striking out five.

Mike Ellwood recorded his first win of the year for the Normal CornBelters. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Derek DeYoung couldn't get it done on the hill for the Schaumburg Boomers, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed one run.
