Kramer Champlin struck out eight batters to lift the Traverse City Beach Bums (17-28) to a 6-1 win over the Southern Illinois Miners (30-14) at Wuerfel Park.

Giancarlo Brugnoni rocked the Southern Illinois Miners with two home runs. Brugnoni went 3-3 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Brugnoni homered in the fifth and sixth innings.

Dan Ludwig (5-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked one and struck out four.
