The Baltimore Redbirds (29-11)'s four first-inning runs built an early lead that helped bring home an 8-3 win over the Herndon Braves (18-22) on Friday at Calvert Hall HS.

The Baltimore Redbirds scored in the first on an RBI single by Kyle Datres, an RBI single by Datres, an RBI double by Martin Costes, an RBI single by Ryan Karstetter, and an RBI single by Danny Blair.

Costes racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Baltimore Redbirds.

Andy Mocahbee went a perfect 4-4 at the plate for the Herndon Braves. He singled in the first, third, fifth, and eighth innings.

Mark Curtis got the win, running his season record to 4-1. Curtis struck out four, walked none and gave up four hits.

Christopher Lohr couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Herndon Braves, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in two innings, walked two and struck out one.
