The Alexandria Aces get on top of the D.C. Grays early but can't hang on in 2-1 loss

The Alexandria Aces (21-14) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 2-1 to the D.C. Grays (11-23) on Sunday.

While the Alexandria Aces led until the fourth inning, the D.C. Grays worked their way back and took the lead on an RBI single by Evan Pace.

Matthew Dalke pitched lights out for the D.C. Grays. The Alexandria Aces managed just two hits off of the the D.C. Grays' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his four innings of work.

Tyler Morder pitched eight innings and allowed two earned runs, seven hits and no walks while striking out three.

Jacob Erikson got the win, running his season record to 4-3. He allowed one run over five innings. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered four hits.

Morder ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year.
