Extra-inning thriller favors the Bethesda Big Train, 4-3 winners over the Baltimore Redbirds

It took 11 innings, but the Bethesda Big Train (24-10) managed to put away the Baltimore Redbirds (23-9) 4-3 on Friday at Shirley Povich Field.

With the score tied at three,, bringing home Justin Morris.

Morris was solid at the plate for the Bethesda Big Train. Morris went 3-5 and scored two runs. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the second and eleventh innings.

Drew Strotman allowed one earned run, four hits and no walks while striking out four over seven innings of work.

Joey Sullivan was effective even in defeat, mowing down six the Bethesda Big Train batters and allowing zero runs.

Stephen Schoch got the win, running his season record to 1-1. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Tyler Schmitt couldn't get it done on the bump for the Baltimore Redbirds, taking a loss. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
