The Herndon Braves (15-17) built an early edge on Sunday, but the Alexandria Aces (18-13) roared back to steal a 2-1 victory at Herndon High School.

While the Herndon Braves led until the ninth inning, the Alexandria Aces worked their way back and took the lead on an RBI single by Shane Connahan.

The Herndon Braves had no answer for Patrick Finklestein, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Finklestein held the Herndon Braves hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Andy Mocahbee was solid at the plate for the Herndon Braves. Mocahbee went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the first inning.

Reid Frazier ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed one run.
