The Vienna River Dogs (10-14) and the Herndon Braves (11-11) both had scoring chances on Saturday, but it was the Vienna River Dogs that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 6-1 win at James Madison High School.

Peter Nielsen got on base three times in the game for the Vienna River Dogs. He singled in the fourth inning.

Andy Mocahbee was solid at the plate for the Herndon Braves. Mocahbee went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning.

Matt Favero improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Vienna River Dogs. He allowed one run over six innings. He struck out three, walked two and surrendered seven hits.

Christopher Lohr (0-2) took the loss for the Herndon Braves. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
