Martin Costes clubbed two home runs to carry the Baltimore Redbirds (15-5) to a 9-1 win over the Gaithersburg Giants (8-12) at Calvert Hall HS.

The Baltimore Redbirds blew out the Gaithersburg Giants thanks to 14 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Baltimore Redbirds scored three runs in the eighth on the Baltimore Redbirds scored in the eighth on an RBI single by Connor Klemann, a solo home run by Costes, and a two-run home run by Costes.

Tyler Blohm had an impressive outing against the Gaithersburg Giants' lineup. The Gaithersburg Giants managed just one hit off of Blohm, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out six during his four innings of work.

Matt Pita had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the first inning and homered in the seventh inning.

Nick Pantos (0-2) took the loss for the Gaithersburg Giants. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed three runs.

Kyle Datres, Danny Blair, Costes and DJ Miller helped lead the Baltimore Redbirds. They combined for 10 hits and three RBIs.
