The Gaithersburg Giants (8-11) continued to pile up the runs on Wednesday, scoring three runs in the last three innings, en route to an easy 16-3 win over the Vienna River Dogs (8-13) at Criswell Automotive Field.

The Gaithersburg Giants scored six runs in the sixth on the Gaithersburg Giants scored in the sixth on a double by Pat Hisle, , a double by Matt Pita, , a single by Jake Slaughter, and a three-run single by Joel Paulino.

Jordan Sergent did his best to prevent defeat.

Sergent got on base three times in the game for the Vienna River Dogs. He singled in the fifth and eighth innings.

Pita racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Gaithersburg Giants.

The Vienna River Dogs had no answer for Alex Ward, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Vienna River Dogs managed just one hit off of the the Gaithersburg Giants' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his 3 1/3 innings of work.

Eric Brodkowitz improved to 1-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Gaithersburg Giants. He allowed two runs over 4 2/3 innings. He struck out five, walked four and surrendered four hits.

John Cerretani (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked two and struck out three.
