Early lead gives the Bethesda Big Train easy victory over the Gaithersburg Giants, 11-4

The Bethesda Big Train (13-6) shut the door early on the Gaithersburg Giants (7-11), capturing an 11-4 victory on Monday at Criswell Automotive Field.

Seven runs in the first three innings allowed the Bethesda Big Train to put the game away early.

An error in the first inning and a two-run home run by Vinny Esposito, a sacrifice fly by Clayton Daniel, and an RBI single by Allen Smoot during the second inning helped the Bethesda Big Train put some runs on the board early.

Esposito racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Bethesda Big Train.

Drew Strotman brought the heat against the Gaithersburg Giants during his outing. The Gaithersburg Giants managed just two hits off of Strotman, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out seven during his five innings of work.

Despite the loss, the Gaithersburg Giants' Eddie ONeill dominated the Bethesda Big Train's batters, giving up one run and striking out seven.

Weston Seay (0-1) took the loss for the Gaithersburg Giants. He allowed seven runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out one.
