Jordan Anderson drove in three runs, sparking the Weyburn Beavers (11-10) to a 6-1 victory over the Yorkton Cardinals (12-10) on Saturday at Tom Laing Park.
He singled in the first and sixth innings.The Yorkton Cardinals had no answer for Ryan Johnson, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Yorkton Cardinals managed just three hits off of Johnson, who allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out five during his six innings of work.
The Yorkton Cardinals were led by Luke Wilkinson's hitting. Wilkinson went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fifth inning.
Jamie Whitehead brought the heat against the Weyburn Beavers during his outing. Whitehead gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his 2 1/3 innings of work.
Richard England ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked five and struck out three.
