Gunnar Lambert went 1-1 and hit a home run, sparking the Bethesda Big Train (9-6) to an 8-3 victory over the Herndon Braves (7-8) on Thursday at Shirley Povich Field.

Logan Gilbert put together a nice outing. The Herndon Braves managed just three hits off of Gilbert, who allowed one earned run, walked four and struck out five during his five innings of work.

Bryan Klendworth had two extra-base hits for the Herndon Braves. He doubled in the sixth and eighth innings.

Jon Clines was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed two runs.
