Cameron Simmons went 3-3 at the plate as the Baltimore Redbirds (9-3) took home a 5-4 victory over the Herndon Braves (7-6) at Calvert Hall HS on Monday.
He singled in the third, fifth, and seventh innings.Craig Lopez pitched lights out for the Baltimore Redbirds. The Herndon Braves managed just one hit off of Lopez, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his two innings of work.
Conner Hall had a hot bat for the Herndon Braves. Hall went 2-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the third inning and homered in the fifth inning.
Mark Curtis improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Baltimore Redbirds. He allowed one run over four innings. Curtis struck out four, walked two and gave up two hits.
Josh Glover (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just five innings, walked five, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
