An ace performance by Johnny John lifted the Bethesda Big Train (7-4) to a 3-1 win in seven innings over the Vienna River Dogs on Sunday at Shirley Povich Field.

John racked up seven strikeouts in the the Bethesda Big Train win. John allowed no earned runs, three hits and no walks over seven innings.

Allen Smoot racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Bethesda Big Train. He singled in the third and fifth innings.

Cole Davis ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked four, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
