The Liberal BeeJays (8-3) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 4-1 to the Haysville Aviators (5-1) on Friday.
The Haysville Aviators took the lead in the sixth inning on a sacrifice fly by Casey Maack.
Tyler Tokunaga racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Haysville Aviators. He singled in the first and third innings and homered in the eighth inning.
The Liberal BeeJays' lineup had no answer for Sam Beattie. The Liberal BeeJays managed just one hit off of the the Haysville Aviators' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his three innings of work.
Cale ODonnell paced the Liberal BeeJays at the plate. ODonnell went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.
Mike Berlin improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Haysville Aviators. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered four hits.
Matt Michalski was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
