Zack weatherford collected three hits, sparking the Regina Red Sox (5-1) to a 7-2 victory over the Weyburn Beavers (3-3) on Saturday at Tom Laing Park.

He singled in the first and fifth innings and doubled in the ninth inning.

Tommy Lay struck out eight hitters en route to the the Regina Red Sox win. Lay allowed two earned runs, six hits and no walks over seven innings.

Despite the loss, the Weyburn Beavers' Brandon Conlin dominated the Regina Red Sox's batters, giving up three runs and striking out six.

Conlin (1-1) took the loss for the Weyburn Beavers.
