Wylie Johnston went 1-3, sparking the Weyburn Beavers (3-1) to a 4-2 victory over the Edmonton Prospects (1-3) on Wednesday at Athelete's Nation Ball Park.

The Weyburn Beavers relied on Scott Beever to eat up innings en route to the win. Beever allowed one earned run, six hits and no walks while striking out one over seven innings of work.

Kent Hasler (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 6 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out five, and allowed four runs.
