It took 10 innings, but the Okotoks Dawgs (2-0) managed to put away the Medicine Hat Mavericks (0-2) 5-4 on Monday at Seaman Stadium.

With the score tied at four in the tenth inning, reached on an error, scoring Matt Morrow.

Morrow got on base three times in the game for the Okotoks Dawgs. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the third inning and homered in the fifth inning.

Jeremy Newton had an impressive outing against the Medicine Hat Mavericks' lineup. Newton held the Medicine Hat Mavericks hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five.

J.P. Stevenson (0-1) took the loss for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
