Tuesday was a great day for Jim Voyles, as Voyles tossed a shutout to carry the Anchorage Bucs (2-1) to a 2-0 victory over the Matsu Miners (1-2) at Hermon Brothers Field.
Voyles held the Matsu Miners scoreless during his nine innings of work. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on four hits while striking out three.
It was a good day at the plate for the Anchorage Bucs' Zane Gurwitz. Gurwitz went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second, seventh, and ninth innings.
Kyle Simonds couldn't get it done on the bump for the Matsu Miners, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed one run.
