Devin Johnson went 1-4, sparking the Medicine Hat Mavericks (25-23) to a 7-2 victory over the Edmonton Prospects (22-26) on Friday at Athlete's Nation Park.

Jason Tarapasky struck out seven hitters en route to the the Medicine Hat Mavericks win. The Medicine Hat Mavericks' pitcher tossed five innings of shutout ball and allowed only four hits.

Kent Hasler was charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
