The Weyburn Beavers (28-16) beat the Regina Red Sox (20-24) 3-2 in seven innings on Wednesday at Tom Laing Park behind Price Peters, who collected three hits.
He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the second and seventh innings.The Regina Red Sox had no answer for Chris Erker, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Regina Red Sox managed just two hits off of the the Weyburn Beavers' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his three innings of work.
Tommy Lay handled the Weyburn Beavers' lineup with ease, racking up four strikeouts. Lay allowed one earned run, five hits and no walks over five innings.
Wade Mason improved to 4-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Weyburn Beavers. He allowed one run over one inning. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.
Kendal Daniels (1-2) took the loss for the Regina Red Sox. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed no runs.
