The Edmonton Prospects get on top of the Yorkton Cardinals early but can't hang on in 4-3 loss

The Edmonton Prospects (16-12) came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 4-3 ballgame against the Yorkton Cardinals (13-17) on Wednesday at Jubilee Park.

The Yorkton Cardinals took the lead in the fifth inning on an RBI single by Carter Hanford.

Luke Wurzelbacher paced the Yorkton Cardinals at the plate. Wurzelbacher went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the first inning.

Camran Bonnema improved to 2-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Yorkton Cardinals. He allowed three runs over seven innings. Bonnema struck out four, walked one and gave up nine hits.

Connor Burns ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
