The Piedmont Pride (9-2) rolled over the Statesville Owls (3-9) 11-5 on Friday after a six-run rally in the first inning.

The Piedmont Pride scored in the first on an RBI single by Jake Barbee, an error, a fielder's choice, an error, and a two-run single by Joey Pena.

Pena reached base four times in the game for the Piedmont Pride. He scored two runs and had two RBIs.

Andrew Schorr improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Piedmont Pride. He allowed two runs over three innings. Schorr struck out one, walked seven and gave up two hits.

Mo Foster couldn't get it done on the mound for the Statesville Owls, taking a loss. He allowed 11 runs in three innings, walked three and struck out one.
