The Newfoundland (1-2) built an early edge on Friday, but the Prince Edward Island (1-2) roared back to steal a 2-1 victory at Parc de lEst .

While the Newfoundland led until the seventh inning, the Prince Edward Island worked their way back and took the lead on a passed ball.

The Prince Edward Island relied on Dawson McCormack to eat up innings en route to the win. McCormack pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and two walks while striking out one.

Matthew Colbourne was effective even in defeat, mowing down six the Prince Edward Island batters and allowing two runs.

Colbourne couldn't get it done on the mound for the Newfoundland, taking a loss.
